The Scoop.
On Friday, 22 August 1997 at 3:10 pm, I was notified by phone that I was accepted from the alternate list at Oregon Health Sciences University. Orientation starts on 4 September and classes begin on 8 September.
Here's my new address in Portland:
925 SW Gaines
Portland, OR 97201
I don't have a phone number yet, but I will post it soon.
Details.
The follwing schools rejected me outright:
- University of Virginia
- U. Washington (because they don't accept OR residents for MD -- my fault)
The following schools rejected me after receipt of my secondary application:
- Dartmouth (too bad - I wrote some humorous essays though)
- Albany Medical College
- Albert Einstein Med
- Rochester
- UConn
- NY Medical College
- U. Penn
- NYU
These are schools that I almost applied to:
I got an interview at OHSU on 10/23/96, and things went really well. I really dig their program, folks,
and surroundings (Portland!) I was notified that I'm in their "hold pool," so all I can do is wait. I'm getting very good at that.
My interview at UVM on February 11, 1997 was fantastic, as was the entire trip. Everyone at UVM was so darned friendly.
